Summer Lookbook

Summer is when we travel most, and when we overpack most if we don't edit. The rule: if it isn't linen, swim, or a hat, it has to earn its place.

• Linen sets in sand and white

  They wrinkle. That's the look. They also dry overnight.

• One swimsuit each, plus a spare for the little ones

  Hotel pools are not a once-a-day activity with this crew.

• Sun hats that stay on

  The cute one that blows off in Tampa is not the one we pack.

• Sandals with a back strap

  For cobblestones, airplanes, and kids who run.

• A cotton cover-up that is also a dress

  Beach to lunch without a costume change.
